Installing the Trusona App
Before you get started with the instructions below you'll need to install and register with the Trusona App.
- Download the Trusona App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Follow the registration steps in the App.
- Verify your email by clicking the link from Trusona.
- You're setup and ready to go!
Admin’s Guide to Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication for Users
1. Log in to JumpCloud
Log in to your JumpCloud Admin Account
2. Accessing Users List
From the left panel, select the Users section
3. User Configurations
Select the specified user you want to enable multi-factor authenticaiton for and you will see their profile configurations. Locate and select the Details tab
4. User Security & Permissions
Scroll down to the User Security & Permissions section and click on it. Locate the checkbox labeled Require Multi-Factor Authenticaiton on Login Portal.
5. Setting Security Time Limits
A dropdown should appear displaying how many days a user has to set up Multi-Factor Authentication on their account. Choose the time allotment based on your company’s security policies.
If a user fails to set up this feature before the time allotment runs out, they will be locked of their JumpCloud account.
Once you have finished the configurations, be sure to click on the Save User button at the bottom of the section.

6. Log in to JumpCloud
Log in to your JumpCloud Admin Account
7. Accessing Admins Info
Click on your account email in the upper-right hand corner of the page and select Administrators from the dropdown menu.
8. Modifying Admin Settings
A list of other admins will be shown. Select one and a pop-up will appear. Click on the checkbox labeled Enable MultiFactor Authentication for Login
9. Finalize
Click on the edit button at the bottom. Setup complete! The next time an admin logs in to their account, they will have to go through the same MultiFactor Authentication setup process as other users.

11. Setting Up Security
If an admin has enabled Multi-Factor Authentication for your account, you will be prompted to set it up after entering your account username and password
12. Set Up an App
You will be prompted to install a Qualified Authentication Application. Make sure to have the Trusona app installed on your mobile device before clicking on Next.
13. Scan the QR Code
A QR code will be shown on the screen.
- Open the Trusona app, and tap on the Settings menu
- Tap 2-step verification (TOTP)
- Scan the QR code
- Type in the number you see from the Trusona app
14. Finalize
Enter the code from the app into the Token box, then click Submit. It should now show that TOTP MFA Setup is Complete.
The next time you log in to JumpCloud and are prompted for a One-time passcode, you can use the Trusona app to log in.
